more tears

September 6, 2011

i promise nothing bad has happened here.
i’m gratefully re-ensconced in my apartment,
keeping the cold at bay with a mixture of down,
french bulldog, and homework.

i took a wee break from reading what i’m supposed to read,
to catch up on those few blogs that make me smile.
but when i came to tina’s blog,
i could feel the cold-wet of tears in my eyes.

truly good blogs are a scarce these days,
blogs that post regularly enough to satisfy
and with quality content to merit their existence.
i try to share as much of myself on here as is safe.
i try not to hold back. (hell i was even naked once)
and it’s rare to find someone brave enough to expose themselves in that way, to let perfect strangers have access to your life
in a genuinely personal way.

and here we have tina,
not only writing a post so raw it moved me,
but sharing her life experiences in the colors she gives us.

a rare gem indeed.
don’t take it for granted.

Thanks for sharing a lovely post. Don’t sell yourself short- I often find myself reflecting on your posts.
Off topic: good luck with that book. I read it while doing my undergrad and it wasn’t nearly as “very short” as I would have liked it to be.

Thanks for pointing me there – it definitely moved me and resonated with my own inner color witch. (Although your post title scared the bejeebus out of me!)

Ok…my mom met you at Sock Summit and was reading your blog. I don’t care about knitting at ALL, but I love this blog. You are a fantastic writer, and your post about losing Mo had me in tears. I am SO glad you found him, and I’m looking forward to following you!

I bought my first socks that rock yarn at the Fiber Fest in Allegan! Nice to see what Tina is up to. Thanks for the link.

    1. You’re right. Tina’s entry is neat. Would love to visit the Blue Moon barn and hear all the stories about all the colorways — even those she deemed best to bury behind the barn!

    2. WTF did you do to get such bad ju-ju over the weekend?!?!? Two suggestions: Take Mo to a remedial training class to make sure he knows the command “Speak”. Also, hide a copy of your housekey somewhere in your car — under the rear seat cushions, duct-taped to the bottom of the ashtray — and leave a copy with a good friend or your parents.

Also, it is now clear to me that your offsprung have your eyes. No wonder your Mom is crazy about Mo and Steven, Jr.!
