night of the never-ending sleeve
January 9, 2011
while it’s going much faster than the body,
this is the slowest sleeve i’ve even encountered.
(what is it you southerners say about molasses this time of year?)
i’m not complaining, really, i’m not.
i am actually loving knitting this sweater.
it’s beautiful.
just check out those double increases on the sleeve.
gorgeous right?
it’s just that, i consider myself to be a pretty quick knitter,
and this sweater is killing my confidence.
when i woke up this morning, i tweeted,
“i am going to finish this damn sleeve today if it kills me.”
with twenty minutes to go, i don’t think i’m going to make it.
we’re looking at an all nighter here peeps.
i can do it.
i will knit this shit out of this sweater!
it will be done. (by the end of jan i hope)
and casting off will be . . . a revelation.
here i go bitches.
wish me luck!

Beautiful! Do you already have the body done or are you starting with sleeves? What’s the yarn? I seem to battle with sleeves lately – I could be wearing three different sweaters right now if the sleeves were done. So I started another bag instead.

friday afternoon:
*you wearing MSU sweatshirt*
me: did you go to MSU?
you: yeah
me: cool i grew up there…
yeah…well, i like your blog? 🙂 sorry for the awkward conversation.
the sleeve looks great, but your comments on the lengthy knitting process is scary.

So after a couple of months of reading your blog (and being totally jealous of your yarn), I wrote a little bit about it on my blog so the 5 people who read mine will now know about yours. : )
Love the sweater, don’t let it get you down. Just keep imagining the end and not the process… : )
