Great interview! I love finding out how other knitters come into being (ewww, grammar!). I especially like hearing about others who didn’t start when they were six, or something. I was in the nascence of my forties before I took it up, and my only regret now is that I wish I had shown an interest in my twenties…
Oh, and Bill’s sweater? Freakin’ AWEsome!

I really liked how you described (good) knitwear designers. They design because they can’t not design.
As someone who is giving knit design a go, I feel like putting a stitch pattern on a plain hat/scarf/whatever should be offered for free. The designs that take lots of thought and clever shaping (and perhaps many froggings) deserve to be paid for.
(And designers love to be told that they are cool. I think it is neat that you tell them so.)

Great interview! How’d it feel to be on the other side of the questions?

I heartily support your stance on the volatile subject of “baby knits”, and agree that the CK (continental knitters) are plotting something wicked. Don’t turn your back on those quick, sneaky bastards!

Great interview. I wish a little smidgen of your wit and charm would rub off on me. Sashay away.
